Lukashenka invites China into joint media holding in Belarus
President Aliaksandr Lukashenka On Thursday met high-ranking Liu Yunshan from the Central Committee of China's Communist Party on a visit to Minsk.
Aliaksandr Lukashenka on September 5 made a surprise offer to the visiting Chinese guest: Liu Yunshan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee.
"We would like China to establish a powerful media holding here, in the center of Europe. This media holding could broadcast in Europe and the former USSR republics. It does not matter if this media holding will be a joint venure or a Chinese company. However, it is extremely important that it will promote our cooperation and promote greater coverage of our plans, Belarus, our joint projects and initiatives, BELTA quotes Lukashenka as saying.
The parties announced during the talks that Belarus and China would continue to develop their multifaceted strategic cooperation. Aliaksandr Lukashenka stressed his interest in having China to make direct investments into Belarus.
