Lukashenka orders to bring average wage back to $500 in 2017
The average wage in Belarus would be returned back to $500 in 2017, Alyaksandr Lukashenka ordered during his working visit to Mahilyou Region.
The current average wage is insufficient, the Belarusian leader said. “Get ready to bring the average wage back to $500 next year,” BELTA quotes Lukashenka.
However, the wages should not go up without an increase in productivity, he stressed: “We should on no account increase the wages for those who do not earn them. Otherwise we will get back to what we had two years ago. We must encourage employers at state and private enterprises to go back to $500.”
Last time Belarusians got the average wage of more than $500 was in 2014.
