Lukashenka supports pro-independence candidates for parliamentary elections
Alyaksandr Lukashenka announced who the state will support in the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives. According to him, the candidates should keep to the principles of independence and care for the welfare of the population.
This statement was made by the head of Belarus on May 24 at a meeting on the upcoming parliamentary elections.
According to the Lukashenka's press-service, he ordered to compile a list of criteria by which the state will determine which candidate to support. Moreover, state support will be given to candidates regardless of their political views.
"It is necessary to support such candidates. If they need support - they should get it irrespective of their political views and. The main thing is that they are honest and decent people," said the Belarusian leader.
It is expected that there will be generated about a dozen principles. One of these principles is independence of Belarus. The second criterion, according to Lukashenka, will be the desire to improve the welfare of people without unexplained shock of radical reforms that would negatively affect them.
