Man returns extra Br 53 mln to bank teller in Minsk (photo, video)
Minsk resident returns the money after hearing the police looking for him via news media
The incident happened in
the morning of March 29 in a bank branch in Prytytski Street. According to the
information provided by Minsk police press-center, a client came to exchange 600
euros for Belarusian roubles. The teller (an experienced worker) gave him 60
million instead of 6 million 600 thousand. The man took the money and left.
One hour later, the lack of money was revealed. The bank's security service
provided a video-record from the police surveillance cameras. The
law-enforcement agencies urged the man or the people who knew him to contact
them.
On Tuesday night,
the man returned the money to the bank. He wished not to disclaim his identity
and asked the teller to recall her statement from the police.
