MEPs call to move Ice Hockey World Cup 2014 from Minsk
The European Parliament passes a resolution calling for the International Ice Hockey Federation to shift the World Cup 2014 from Belarus.
In the document, MEPs urge the IIHF to deprive Belarus of the right to host the World Cup tournement in 2014, informs Euobserver.com.
The resolution says: "We should not be allowing Europe's last tyrant to host an international sporting event that will lend him legitimacy."
Previously, the International Ice Hockey Federation stated many times that it wasn't going to move the event to another country.
