Ministry of Energy refutes possibility of gas supplies to Belarus bypassing “Gazprom”
The Ministry of Energy has refuted the possibility of Russian oil companies’ gas supplies to Belarus bypassing “Gazprom”. The possibility was mentioned in an article published in a Russian newspaper “RBK daily” on January 14.
The press-secretary of the Ministry of Energy Lyudmila Zyankovich has informed BelaPAN that negotiations about oil and gas are being conducted separately so the article is surprising.
Let us remind you that, according to the Russian edition, Russia has agreed to increase duty-free gas supplies but it is not clear for how long it may last.
According to the source of “RBK daily”, the official Minsk insists on the fact that the Customs Union allows Russian companies to supply gas to the country bypassing “Gazprom”. Oil producers have already been offered a scheme of exchanging “gas for products”. “Lukoil”, “TNK-oil” and “Rusoil” are interested in the idea.
