Nomination for local elections to begin on Feb 14

Belarus' Central Election Commission (CEC) on Thursday approved a time-schedule of events associated with the organization of the local elections. The poll has been scheduled to take place on April 25, reminds Interfax. CEC secretary Mikalai Lazavik told reporters that territorial election commissions should be formed by not later than January 29 and constituency election commissions -- not later tha March 10. Nomination of candidates will take place from February 14 through March 25. Lazavik also added that election campaigning would be allowed from the date of candidate's registration through April 24.

Early voting will begin five days before the polling day (from April 20 through April 24).
