PM Myasnikovich chatted with Obama in NYC
Belarus PM and U.S. President had a brief chat at the welcome reception for the heads of delegations at the UN General Assembly.
Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich attended the reception together with Belarus' Charge d'Affaires in the United States. During a brief protocol encounter, the head of Belarusian government conveyed the best wishes to Barak Obama from the Belarusian leader, reports BELTA.
At the reception, Myasnikovich also talked to the presidents of Serbia, Croatia, Latvia, Finland, and the foreign ministers of Lithuania, Kazakhstan ad Bahrain.
Mikhail Myasnikovich also met Ron Johnson, U.S. Senator (Republican) from Visconsin, the chairman of the Senate subcommittee on European affairs. Johnson expressed gratitude to Belarus for a principal stance of the country's leadershp on Ukraine and expressed hope that Belarus would continue to play a significant role in settling the conflict.
