Polish and Swedish high-ranking officials to visit Minsk?
Polish and Swedish Ministers for Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski and Carl Bildt will be among them.
It will happen before the Eastern Partnership summit appointed for November 28-29 in Vilnius, Sikorksi and Bildt wrote in their article On the Way to Wnited Europe.
The Polish and Swedish Ministers of Foreign Affairs and “some other high-raking officials from Sweden and Poland will travel to the EaP capitals: Chişinău, Kiev, Tbilisi, Baku, Yerevan and Minsk”. They are planning to speak about the great progress of the programme of European reforms and attempts “to fully realize the Eastern Partnership programme”.
"We still demand that Belarus should release all political prisoners and are urging our partners to avoid the practice of selective justice,” Sikorski and Bildt said in the article.
The Foreign Ministers are hoping that “the summit in Vilnius will become a summit of decision-making” and “the basis for deeper integration between the EU and the Eastern European countries which will benefit both sides.” “The EU’s door is open for any European state willing to join and matching all the criteria,” they stressed.
No abstract promises will be made during the trip, they will be “urging to act in practice”, Radosław Sikorski and Carl Bildt noted.
