Putin agrees to become PM under Medvedev
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that he was ready to serve as a new prime minister in case first deputy prime minister Dmitry Medvedev (and his favorite) wins the presidential polls next March.
"If the citizens of Russia display trust to Dmitry Medvedev and elect him as the country's president, I will be ready to head the government," Putin said on December 17 when addressing the congress of the United Russia party.
He stressed the country "still faces a lot of unresolved problems; much more still needs to be done", Interfax quotes Putin as saying.
