40 people to witness against Dashkevich
The "Young Front" leader will stand trial upon the new criminal case on Tuesday, August 28. He faces one more year in jail.
Zmitser Dashkevich's trial will be closed
and will take place in the colony of Hlybokaye, the place where he serves
punishment. The political prisoner has been in custody since December 18, 2010,
he was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment allegedly for hooliganism.
A
new criminal case has been started against Dashkevich now, this time for
disobedience to the colony's administration.
According to the information provided by Radio Liberty with a reference to Vice-Chairperson
of the "Young Front" and Dashkevich's fiancee Nasta Palazhanka, about
40 witnesses are involved in the case. They are both policemen and prisoners. However,
it is unknown whether there are any witnesses from Zmitser's side. He res=fused
from the lawyer of defense because he considers this trial illegal and
artificially created.
