430 workers quit from "Granit" plant in Mikashevichy
They applied for discharge as they are dissatisfied with USD 200-400 salaries.
According to Chairman of the enterprise's
independent trade union Aleh Stakhaevich, the workers intend to go outside
Belarus to work, but they are not allowed to quit until they work for another
month.
Although some of
them already have agreements to work in Russia, the enterprise's administration
doesn't want to take a step towards the workers. At the same time, Stakhaevich
says, when they started creating the independent trade union, they said - you
may quit anytime, there are many people from several districts wanting to take
your jobs. Some workers even miss work in order to get fired for absence at the
working place, informs spring96.org
