Mahilyou inhabitant fined for Br525 thousand for speaking Belarusian
Mahilyou Lenin District judge Stanislau Shandarovich has fined activist of “BPF Youth” Andrei Padalyak.
The guy was accused of “petty hooliganism”. According to witnesses from the police, Padalyak was detained for being drunk and using bad language on November 17. He was jailed for it for the whole night.
Padalyak says that he was talking on his cell phone loudly which could attract the attention of the police. Policemen bullied him in the police office – he refused to be fingerprinted and one of the policemen smeared his face with a fingerprinting roller. Then three policemen plunged his head into a lavatory pan.
By the way, no alcohol check-up was conducted. The policemen’s bullying was not proved in court.
Andrei pled not guilty. He disagrees about the court’s decision and is going to appeal it soon.
