Action in memory of Jury Zakharanka to take place in the Hague
An action in memory of Jury Zakharanka will take place on May 7 - the 12th anniversary of his disappearance, near the International Court building in the Hague.
The former Interior Minister, police general Jury Zakharanka was kidnapped near his own apartment on May 7, 1999.
Zakharanka had been discharged from his position as a Minister several years before the kidnapping. His colleagues had respect for him and connected this discharge with his civil position with regard to Lukashenka and his associates.
The public prosecutor's office's investigators Petrushkevich and Sluchak, who worked on Jury Zakharanka's case, were forced to seek refuge abroad after they had discovered a series of facts. They published sensational materials which proved existence of the so-called "death sqaudron" in Belarus, created by the current authorities in order to get rid of political opponents physically. Petrushkevich and Sluchak are convinced that the members of this "death squadron" are connected with general Zakharanka's kidnapping, informs the рpress-center of CIWR.ORG.
