Andrei Mezin leaves national hockey team
The goalkeeper of the national team has not attended the today’s training session.
It is informed that he took his belongings and left the team. Manager of the team Kari Heikkilä has informed “Pressball” that Mezin did not discuss it with him. In Heikkilä’s opinion, the goalkeeper was dissatisfied with his performance and role in the team.
Head of the Belarusian Hockey Federation Yauhen Vorsin has told Euroradio:
Vorsin: "The manager has informed that Mezin made the decision himself. It could be caused by his psychological state, he probably thought that he could not help and made the decision…”
According to Kari Heikkilä, the team will stake on Vital Koval now.
