Anniversary of Slutsk Defence Action marked today (video)
The First Slutsk regiment of the Belarusians People's Republic confronted the Red Army on November 27, 1920.
The day is also called the Heroes Day. The struggle between Belarusian troops made of peasants and the Bolshevists took about a month. The rebels has to flee to the territory of Belarus controlled by Poland at the end of December, 1920.
The Slutsk uprising was Belarusians' first armed attempt to defend the independence of their country.
