Belarus-bound storks change mind, land in Israel
Storks decide to change course and turn to Israel after spotting snow in Belarus
Newspaper Komsomolskaya pravda v Belarusi reports that the news about the storks' U-turn was broke by Viktar Fianchuk, director of Protecting the Fatherland's Birds non-governmental organization. Mr Fianchuk said the storks en route from the Southern Africa to Belarus temporarily landed in Israel. Geese have stopped in Ukraine. They are assumed to return to their destination - Belarus as soon as snow melts.
