Dzmitry Baha scored the only goal with a corner head kick after a pass by Renan Bressan.
The team of New Zealand were "hosts" of the match in the first period but Belarusians managed to improve their game and tied. The Belarusians attacked the gate and tried to score one more goal at the end of the second period. But Syarhei Karnilenka's ball hit the cross-bar.
Belarus national team consisted of: Hutar, Palitevich, Kuzmyanok, Palyakou, Baha, Drahun, Hardzyaichuk, Bressan (Varankou, 80), Salavei (Alexiyevich, 54), Karnilenka (Zubovich 92+).
Brazil defeated Egypt in the other match of our group - 3:2 (Rafael da Silva, 17, Lear, 26, Neimar, 30; Abutrica, 52, Salah, 76) Belarus and Brazil are the leaders after the first match - they both have three points.
Belarus will play with Brazil on July 29.
