Belarus MFA: Too early to speak about Swedish Ambassador's return
Belarusian and Swedish foreign ministries are nevertheless in contact, discussing the resumption of Sweden mission's work in Minsk
Belarus MFA spokesman Andrei Savinyh told a news briefing Thursday consultations were under way.
"We need time to create conditions that would promote positive decisions," Interfax-West quotes him as saying.
Ex-Ambassador of Sweden Stefan Ericsson left Belarus in early August 2012 after his ambassador accreditation was not extended. The Swedish Ministry of Foreign affairs announced that he had been ousted from our county and refused to accept the new Belarusian Ambassador. Belarus recalled its embassy from Stockholm and employees of the Swedish Embassy in Minsk were asked to return to their country.
