Belarusian photo showcased in Czech Republic
"Belarus Press Photo 2012" exhibition opens in Brno, Czech Republic.
One of the project's co-organizers Julia Darashkevich and the last year's Grand Prix laureate Alyaksandr Vasyukovich attended the opening ceremony on September 25. About 100 Czechs who are interested in the events in Belarus came to see the exhibition on the very first day. They were mostly mostly young people, showing a great interest the photos displayed.
Several hours before the opening ceremony, Amnesty International's branch in Brno had carried out an action titled "Plush Toys Landing for Belarus". During the action, anyone could bring a teddy bear with the owner's name ribbon around his neck and give it to the organizers who would send the toys to Belarus. They also collected signatures for release of Ales Byalyatski, who turned fifty on that day - September 25.
The exhibition will continue in Brno, Dominikánská 9 throug October 7. It works from 10 a.m.
till 6 p.m. The admission is free.
