“Bobruisk Courier” suggests policemen should apologize to journalists
The newspaper’s editor-in-chief, Anatol Sanatsenka, has sent a letter suggesting that policemen should apologize to two of his reporters in public to the local
police chief.
Let us remind you that policemen detained two journalists of “Bobruisk Courier” in Lenin Square in Babruisk on July 6, 2011. They were covering the events in the city at that moment. According to Anatol Sanatsenka, policemen’s actions did moral and material damage to journalists of “Bobruisk Courier” – Victar Kachan and Victar Masalovich.
The court of the first instance fined the journalists for five base amounts each using only police reports. A court of higher instance cancelled the sentences later, informs the website of the Belarusian Association of Journalists.
