Byalyatski knows why he is summoned to General Prosecutor’s Office
Ales Byalyatski, chairperson of the human rights centre “Vyasna” will have to visit the General Prosecutor’ Office on February 16.
He has been informed about it by phone today and they have promised to send him an official subpoena. The topic of the future conversation has also been revealed – the work of the human rights centre “Vyasna”.
Byalyatski thinks that he may be warned for acting on behalf of an unregistered organization.
The human rights activist disagrees with it in advance. “Article 193.1 – “Acting on behalf of an unregistered organization” contradicts to the Constitution and Belarus’ international commitments in the field of human rights protection. It is a repressive article aimed at eliminating civil activities in Belarus”, - says Byalyatski.
