Detained journalists released from police department
BelaPAN camera man Syarhei Satsyuk was released at about 1 p.m. Radio Liberty correspondent was free an hour later.
According to Hruzdzilovich,
as reported by BelaPAN, the policemen included him into their database,
photographed and fingerprinted, although they already had his fingerprints. All
the materials were deleted from the journalist's video camera's memory card.
Satsyuk's camera was also cleaned of all video materials. Both journalists
wrote explanatory notes in the police.
Satsyuk and Hruzdzilovich were detained this morning when they were covering
the protest action held by the citizens against the authorities' self-will. The
protesters got together in Mikhailauski Square to pass an appeal to Alyaksandr
Lukashenka. However, the people in plain clothes forced them out of the square
to Myasnikou Square.
