Ex-political prisoner jailed for 17 months
Alyaksandr Malchanau has been imprisoned for having stolen scrap metal from a Zhodzina enterprise.
Judge Ivan Hrynevich has sent the former political prisoner to a top security colony. Let us remind you that Alyaksandr Malchanau was imprisoned for 3 years for participation in the Square. He was released in September 2011 despite the fact that he had not pled for mercy. He was detained on suspicion of disrespect for the state symbols but was released later.
Zhodzina court has also pronounced Artsyom Ihnatsikau’s sentence– 18 months in prison. The sentence has been postponed for 1 year. Ihnatsikau claimed that he and Alyaksandr Malchanau were persecuted for Alyaksandr’s participation in the Square, informs Radio Liberty.
