First amnestied to be released till next week
The law on amnesty signed by Alyaksandr Lukashenka the day before came in force on July 11.
According to the document, about 2 800 people will be released from prisons. More than 33 thousand people are kept in the Belarusian prisons in total.
According to the information provided by BELTA, the preliminary investigation authorities may apply the law already today. The heads of prisons are waiting for the corresponding order of the Interior Minister, which is being prepared and will be signed on Thursday.
