Freedom Day in Minsk: no banners, venue near "Kastrychnik" cinema
Minsk City Executive Committee has allowed the Freedom Day meeting and manifestation appointed for March 24.
The city authorities have changed the venue. The organizers planned to gather near the Botanical Gardens. But the authorities have decided that they should gather near the cinema "Kastrychnik", BPF leader Alyaksei Yanukevich told Euroradio.
Yanukevich: "Participants will gather near the cinema "Katsrychnik" at 12 p.m. on March 24. They will walk along Independence Avenue and Surhanau Street and the meeting will start in Friendship of Peoples Park at 2 p.m. It will finish at 3 p.m."
The authorities have forbidden banners and streamers during the manifestation, Yanukevich said. The organizers will decide how to solve the problem today.
