Kyiv chooses Barroso over Lukashenka
President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso's demand on Aliaksandr Lukashenka's absense at the Chernobyl conference has been fulfilled.
President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso will attend the conference, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy, in Kyiv. Belarus will be represented by a Prime Minister.
The head of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration Siarhej Levachkin has informed this to the media, ІА REGNUM reports.
The official has also informed that Russia will be represented by a PM as well.
Let us remind you, Ukrainian media informed before that Barroso was ready to take part in the conference only if the Ukrainian side fulfilled one requirement - there should be no Belarusian President Aliaksandr Lukashenka there.
