Martynau: Belarus counts on decrease of tension in relations with EU
The Minister of Foreign Affairs commented on the current state of the Belarus-EU relations during his stay in Armenia.
"Belarus stands for successive
de-escalation of tension in the relations with the European Union, takes
corresponding efforts in this regard and hopes that they will be mutual",
— RIA Novosti quotes Syarhei Martynau's words.
Head of our country's foreign ministry underlined that the Belarusian
authorities are "interested in partnership" with Brussels, but are
against "the policy of dictatorship and sanctions". Martynau reminded
that the trade turnover between Belarus and the EU makes billions dollars:
"This is the trade in which both sides are interested".
Let us remind you, the balance of our country's foreign trade is positive this year due to the European Union. Belarus' trade turnover with the EU states increased by 153% for the year.
