Minister of Internal Affairs Anatol Kulyashou is dismissed
Police colonel Ihar Shunevich has been appointed new Minister.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka has signed the corresponding order today, on May 11. Police lieutenant-general Anatol Kulyashou has been placed at the disposal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, informs BelTA.
Shunevich occupied the position of senior deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – head of the criminal police – before the appointment.
Ihar Sunevich is 45 year old. He was born in Lugansk Province, Ukraine. He graduated from the Belarusian Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1992 and served in the Department of Internal Affairs. He worked in KGB in 2007-2012. He became deputy Minister of Internal Affairs in January 2012.
According to editor-in-chief of “Charter’97” Natallya Radzina, Shunevich organized the interrogations of political prisoners arrested for “Dec.19 case”.
