Nadzeya Astapchuk:"It's complicated. There's small chance to get medal back"
Three weeks after the Olympics in London Euroradio returns to situations when our sportsmen lost their medals.
The Olympic medal, taken away from Nadzeya Astapchuk, has become the biggest disappointment of the Olympic Games for Belarusians.
Why did the doping police watch the sportswoman so tightly? Quite a lot of time passed since the middle of August, when the International Olympic Committee disqualified Nadzeya. We asked the sportswoman whether any news occurred.
Nadzeya Astapchuk: "The lawyers are working, preparing the documents. Something will be known closer to September 20. Nothing is clear by now".
The National Anti-Doping Agency prolonged the term for investigation of Astapchuk's case. No details have been informed. Nadzeya estimates her chances to get the medal back as follows:
"It's complicated. There's small chance for it, but still. It's hard for me to believe it, but people say it is worth trying to do something. I don't know."
Euroradio: If someone added doping to your food, where could it happen? Was it at the training camp?
Nadzeya Astapchuk: "I cannot tell you this exactly and I don't want to accuse anyone of anything. Everyone treated be perfectly well in Raubichy, there was a family atmosphere there. I don't want to think something like this could happen there. I don't know..."
