Opposition members not to be punished for "illegal" going abroad
Lyabedzka, Kalyakin and Karnyayenka will not be punished for their "illegal" departure from Belarus.
Head of the department on citizenship and migration of the Interior Ministry Alyaksei Byahun has assured Euroradio of the above:
"No, I think there shouldn't be any
questions here".
The customs authorities are not going to persecute them either, says head of
the Customs Committee's press-center Alyaksandr Tsishchanka.
Let us remind you, the customs officers did not let leader of the United Civil
Party Anatol Lyabedzka cross the border without any explanations on March 7. On
March 10, the Belarusian customs officers did not allow leader of the
"Fair World" party Syarhei Kalyakin to leave the country. The same
happened to coordinator of the campaign "For Fair Elections" Victar
Karnyayenka. In spite of all this, the three representatives of the democratic
forces managed to get to Lithuania on March 11 in order to take part in the
meeting of the Belarusian opposition leaders.
