OSCE plans to send ODIHR mission to Minsk

Audronius Ažubalis, the Foreign Minister of Lithuania, which is now presiding the OSCE, has said this in an interview to "Moscow's Echo" radio station, BelaPAN reports.

"OSCE is an organization which some people mock at, as we have no tanks and can impose no economic sanctions,  — Ažubalis has said. — It has a rather moral significance. However, we have some weapons, which is called the ODIHR".

"Many autocrats criticize it but, in fact, no one argues with its conclusions. We'll see how official will Minsk' work with it be... I mean monitoring of the situation, we plan to authorise the ODIHR mission to go there. We'll see. On the other hand, closing of the OSCE office is a sign that Belarus is going to self-isolation, if I can say so", — the Lithuanian Minister has said.
