Planes scatter drugs for wild animals (photo)

The immunization of wild animals will be conducted in Belarus in May in order to prevent rabies.

The immunization is conducted by scattering briquettes with vaccine with the help of planes. They fly at the speed of 150 km/h at the height of 150 or 200 metres.

When a pilot flies over the place where the vaccine needs to be scattered, he informs the crew about it. The men quickly throw out the briquettes with the help of a special device (the amount of drugs is assessed automatically).

The immunization is conducted twice a year – in spring and autumn. The briquettes are made from wild animals feed. This work used to be conducted by foresters – they simply threw out the briquettes in the forest.
