Polish Home Office not to extradite Andrei Pyzhyk to Belarus
The Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced it commenting on the appeal sent by MEP Marek Migalski.
According to the Ministry, ex-investigator of the Belarusian police Andrei Pyzhyk is a refugee and Poland is not going to extradite him to Belarus in any case, informs "Narodnaya Volya".
Migalski wrote to the Ministry that Pyzhyk could not be extradited to Belarus. In his opinion, it would become the same mistake as reveling information about Ales Byalyatksi's accounts to the Belarusian authorities which resulted in the prosecution of the human rights defender.
Let us remind you that Pyzhyk fled to Poland due to pressure exercised on him for his refusal to be in charge of a trumped-up case started against a member of the opposition. The Belarusian authorities demanded to extradite Pyzhyk after he appeared as an expert in the film "Fear in the country of peace" shot by the TV-channel Belsat. The film was dedicated to the terrorist act in Minsk metro.
