Polish tourist stranded in Belarus
Teresa Strzelec is banned from leaving Belarus until she clears off her debt to the Belarusian state
The Belarusian Citizenship and Migration department annulled the Polish citizen's visa two weeks ago and forbade her to leave Belarus. She is still not allowed to return home, head of the Department Alyaksei Byahun told Euroradio.
“The customs won't let her leave – they think that she has a debt."
The Polish citizen arrived in Belarus in her own car. She left to it a Belarusian car repair workshop and did not inform the customs about it. As a result, Teresa Strzelec' car was confiscated and now she must pay the impost of $7120. The woman refused to pay, her visa was annulled and she is unable to return home.
