Russian President promises to find financing for Belarusian army
Alyaksandr Lukashenka has said this at the meeting with State Secretary of the Security Council Leanid Maltsau and Minister of Defense Yury Zhadobin.
They were speaking about the social issues which the Belarusian force structures come across. The state leader has said that material supply of the Belarusian military men should be increased. And that Russia might help in that.
Lukashenka: "We have an agreement with the President of Russia, I've sent him a letter on search of additional financing for the Belarusian military men. Basically, we have the common army, as we have one and the same tasks, while the scope of material supply of our military men and the Russian ones may differ by two times. This is unacceptable. The Russian President promised to help so we must deal with this issue seriously".
The participants of the meeting also discussed the issues of modernization of the armed forces and correspondence of the weapons, equipment and tactics to the demands of the modern life, informs the STV TV-Channel.
