Sport officials' hobbies: amateur hockey, fire fighting and skiing
Euroradio has studied the hobbies of the new Minister of Sport, senior vice-President of the NOC and the sport aide to the President.
New Minister of Sport Alyaksandr Shamko was a rescuer and deputy head of the Belarusian Fire-Fighting Federation. This fact allowed appointing him Minister of Sport.

New vice-President of the NOC Alyaksandr Rachkouski (dismissed from the position of the head of the State Border Committee) used to play hockey. Rachkouski also used to head the Federation of Sailing.

New sport aide to the President Maksim Ryzhankou (son of the first Belarusian Minister of Sport)has informed BelTA that he has always been far from sport:
"It was an unexpected offer. I am a professional diplomat. The appointment demonstrates the President's trust and it is a challenge for me."

All the new officials are far from professional sport. The result of this experiment is even more interesting after the recent failure at the Olympics. The inability to fulfill the medal plan was explained by some officials' lack of professionalism.
