Parliamentary election 2012: Statistics
109 MPs have been elected. There are no opposition members among them.
494 people wanted to run for a MP seat, 363 were registered.
The Central Election Commission "banned" 122 people and 9 withdrew. Over 40 complaints were lodged.
The CEC had no legal grounds to refuse Alyaksandr Salop, so he was rejected for moral reasons: "Such a person cannot be an MP!"
Election commissions rejected 48% of candidates from "Tell the Truth", 27% of social democrats, 24% of LDPB candidates, 23% of UCP candidates, 16% of candidates from "Fair World" and 9% of BPF candidates.
Every candidate received 5 million roubles for posters. The state spent 102000 dollars per every elected MP.
Candidates were given 15 minutes of air time to record their speeches for the BT. However, 33 speeches of UCP candidates were not shown.
Only 1649 out of 27035 ballot boxes were transparent.
762 observers arrived from abroad. 347 of them were from the CIS and 335 - from the OSCE.
As of September 23, only 49 opposition candidates remained. There were 117 of them a day before the early voting started.
Candidates ran uncontested in 16 constituencies.
74.2% of voters took part in the voting. 26% voted early.
