Teachers with leaflets detained in Pastavy
Deputy candidate Victar Tsyareshchanka says that administrative resource is used against him and he is about to "just leave it and go away".
The program of deputy candidate Victar Tsyareshchanka (he runs at Sharkaushchyna electoral district No. 29) has not been hanged out at a single electoral precinct out of 104 by now. According to voters, they are prohibited to come to the meetings with the candidate under the threat of being fired. The police detain his election agents for no reason and make charges against them.
Victar
Tsyareshchanka: "The
Vitsebsk regional authorities gave direct telephone instructions to their
employees, for example, to the departments of internal affairs of
Sharkaushchyna, Braslau and Pastavy districts, and their sub-divisions of the
traffic police to use any type of administrative punishment via protocols
against Tsyareshchanka and his election agents. Two teachers disseminated
leaflets in the framework of the current legislation in Pastavy yesterday. The
police detained them, kept them in the police department for three hours, made
an administrative charge against them "dissemination of printed matter via
picketing in the wrong place". I am about to just leave it and go
away!"
Victar Tsyareshchanka confessed to Euroradio that such situation pushed him to the decision to withdraw from the election totally. He will consider this possibility after his meeting with voters on September 18.
