Two Young Front activists beaten and detained in Minsk
Zmitser Kremenetski and Mikhas Muski were detained on Saturday night at "Kupala" metro station. The guys were standing at the platform waiting for the train.
They managed to inform their friends from
the "Young Front" that the law-enforcement agencies' representatives
were first interested in the stripe with the organization's symbols, sewn onto
one of the youngsters' backpack. This became the reason for detention. After
that, the policemen of the community police office at the "Kupala"
metro station couldn't decide what to do with the activists for a long time.
The guys were
forcibly searched, Mikhas was beaten. Later, it turned out that the activists
had been detained for dissemination of stickers. Then, administrative charges for
swearing in public were made against them. At about 22.40 the detainees were
taken out of the community police office in handcuffs. Probably, they will wait
for the court trial in the Akrestsina street detention center.
