USA prolong limitations for trade with Belarus
Barack Obama prolonged the law which limits trade relations with a number of countries, including Belarus, till August 17, 2013.
The validity of the document has been prolonged technically, but the list of countries trade relations with which are limited is corrected constantly, Radio Liberty informs.
Belarus got into this list in 2006 - "for breaking democratic
institutions". In 2011, they added the wording "after aggression of
the authorities against civil persons". The list also contains Iran, Burma,
Sudan, Zimbabwe, Syria, North Korea, Lebanon and Russia. Our Eastern neighbour
was included there in 2000 "to prevent export of highly enriched
uranium".
