Victar Tsoy's anniversary marked with a tribute concert in Brest (photo)
The cover-musicians from Brest played a program which sounded as close as possible to "Kino" at the 50th anniversary of Victar Tsoy.
The concert of the cover-band C€PITAL$ had a
symbolic start - in silence, and the first song was "Song Without
Words".
"In the circle of creative
people it is accepted to celebrate anniversaries with the so-called
"creative reports. We decided that it will be good to pay respect to the
last hero of the Soviet musical epoch", - after these words
they played "The Last Hero" to the audience.
Tsoy's quotations
of different times sounded from the stage in the pauses between the songs.
"I don't think that it is
a protest song actually, although "Changes" (the audience burst with
applause at this moment - Euroradio) is perceived as a newspaper article about
the "perestroika". I wrote it long ago when no one spoke about any
change-over and I didn't mean any change-over".
The audience
demanded "Changes" standing up, and the people did not sit back to
their seats till the end of the concert. The song sort of divided the concert
into two parts - the slow one ("When your Girlfriend is Sick",
"8-grader") and the real stadium "Kino" hits like "We
Want to Dance", "The Star Named Sun".
The "Blood
Group" was supposed to close the tribute but it was not enough for the
over-excited audience. The C€PITAL$ had to come out after a curtain call. Everyone, even elder fans of Tsoy, danced below
the stage under the "Parting".
