Makei stays on EU black list?
It will be decided in two weeks, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton said.
“Uladzimir Makei is blacklisted by the EU now. The sanctions imposed on Belarus may be expanded this month (in two weeks) and the EU will decide whether Mr. Makei should remain blacklisted," Maya Kosiânčič told Euroradio.
The EU Ministers will meet in Luxemburg on October 15. The expansion of the sanctions imposed on the official Minsk may be discussed there.
Uladzimir Makei was "blacklisted' by the EU after the dispersal of Dec.19 action in 2010. He was the head of the President's Administration back then. The idea of removing his name from the list appeared when he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs.
