Russian President orders to solve Belarusian oil supplies issue
The aim to solve the problem of energy supplies to Belarus “in order to establish long-term transparent relations” has been announced by the Russian President Dmitrii Medvedev. The first vice PM of Russia Igor Shuvalov has claimed it.
According to him, the argument about Belarusian oil imposts has nothing to do with the Customs Union of the tree states.
RIA “Novosti” reminds that Minsk and Moscow have not managed to reach an agreement about the terms of oil supplies and transit to Belarus in 2010 so far. Belarus would like to have preferential duties and Russia notes that Belarus will have to pay 100% of the custom duty for oil supplies starting from January 1 because no agreement has been signed. Minsk claims that the problem of oil imposts discredits the whole project of the Customs Union.
