Schools evacuted in Maladzechna
The police are checking the schools, field engineers are searching for explosives.
Field engineers are searching the schools at the moment, witnesses told Euroradio. At least 4 schools received phone warnings about mines – No9, 10, 11 and 14. Teachers and children have already been evacuated.
The police have confirmed the evacuation caused by “an unknown miner’s phone call” but an official statement will be made later.
Representative of the Investigation Committee Yuliya Hancharova has also confirmed the fact:
“The Belarusian police are looking for blasting assemblies in Maladzechna schools.”
Messages about mines were also sent to children’s e-mail addresses, Regional Newspaper reports.
Miners, rescuers and doctors are working in the mentioned school now.
"The administration of a number of Maladzechna schools have been warned about mines today. Children and the personnel have been evacuated. Field engineers and terrorism prevention units Almaz were sent to Maladzechna. The police and the local authorities are doing everything to provide safety,” Alyaksandr Danilchnaka, head of the information and PR department of Minsk Province Executive Committee, told Euroradio.
