Serbian cabinet calls for early elections
Serbia's government today dissolved the parliament and called for early elections to take place on May 11. A relevant resolution has been tabled with Serbian President Boris Tadic for signing, reports b92.
Last Saturday, Serbian Prime Minister Voislav Kostunica stated that the government could not work together any longer because of the split over the Kosovo independence.
Kostunica accused the pro-Western ministers of not working hard to fight for the territorial integrity of Serbia. On March 7, the Serbian government rejected a draft resolution on Kosovo which talked about refusing from cooperation with the European Union. Kostunica stressed that Serbia could not join the EU before the EU countries change their stance on Kosovo.
