Sidorski promises to Lithuanians that Belarusian NPP will be safe

The Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorksi claimed during his visit to Lithuania that the future NPP will correspond to internationals standards. Delfi.lt reminds that Lithuania has expressed its indignation at the idea of constructing an NPP 50 kilometers away from Vilnius several times.
According to Sidorski, all construction works will be controlled by European and international institutions, like the IAEA, from the very first day.  The Belarusian Prime Minister claimed that Lithuania has received all the necessary documents, civil hearings had been conducted and that they listened to the opinions of energy, ecology and other experts.

The Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius did not adopt any firm position against the NPP at the meeting with the Belarusian official. He told journalists that Belarus and Lithuania had reached an agreement about cooperation in the field of nuclear-power engineering.
