Solana: EU wants to cooperate with Belarus

“The European Union has a serious desire to cooperate with Belarus," EU's High Commissioner for Foreign Policy and Security Javier Solana told Belapan. "EU and Belarus are neighbors, and we indeed have many important reasons for a closer cooperation", he said. However, Solana stressed that partnership could be more successful only if it was based on common values.

Solana regrets that Belarus does not share the values that are chersihed by the European Union. “The ball is now at Belarus's side. We will not compromise," Solana stated.
