Stasya: I will easily exchange victory at “Eurovision” for “Rock Crown”!
The leader of the band “Po Glazam” Stasya visited the office of ERB on the eve of the final stage of “Eurofest”. She explained us the meaning of the song “A 3000’s girl” and shared her thoughts about the Rock Coronation and the secret of human “craziness”… Our song is the most competitive in Europe. If compared to other Belarusian variants.
ERB: Stasya, everything will be decided on Monday: the final of “Eurofest” will take place. Are you in the mood to win?
Stasya: No!.. Well, yes... Of Course we are in the mood to win! A performance is always a victory for us, it is always a holiday. However, I will not make any pathetic speech for you …
ERB: Is there a real chance?
Stasya: Of course our song is the most competitive in Europe. If compared to other Belarusian variants.
Ruslan Alyahno?.. I like Red Hot Chili Peppers better!
ERB: What do you think about the songs of your rivals? For example, the song of Ruslan Alyahno.
Stasya: It is a provocative question… I like Red Hot Chili Peppers better!
ERB: Will there be any “zest” prepared by “Po Glazam” for the final? Something like your mini-skirt in the semi-final.
Stasya: I’d like it to remain a secret till the final.
ERB: Does your shirt with images of flags of different countries express you attitude to life in some way?
Stasya: Yes, the heroine of my song “A 3000’s girl” is a cosmopolitan. She is an inhabitant of the world, there are no borders for her. So flags on the shirt are a symbol of my heroine’s cosmopolitism.
ERB: Which of “Eurovision” winners do you like best? I mean winners like “ABBA”, Ruslana, “Lordi”…
Stasya: I liked Ruslana’s performance: it was very impressive. Speaking about “Lordi” – I haven’t seen their performance but I was surprised about their victory. I thought “Eurovision” was a pop contest before they won. And “ABBA” is a unique discovery of “Eurovision”, there is nothing else to add!
ERB: What do you think participating in “Eurovision” gives our country?
Stasya: I think it’s time to show Europe that Belarus is a musical country. It is a country able to present a few “zests” to the old Europe, England and all the rest!
What is better – a trip to Belgrade or a Rock Crown?
ERB: Will you perform naked if it could help to win?
Stasya: I’m not the kind of person who would do anything to reach their goal. I choose better ways. Moreover, it is not a porn contest!
ERB: Another important event called “Rock Coronation” is being prepared in Belarus. What would be more important for you: a victory at “Eurovision” or “a rock crown”?
Stasya: It seems to me that I will never get a “Rock Crown” because local rockers have labeled me as “pop” forever. Maybe I’m not as tedious and negative as some other Belarusian rock bands. I think I deserve “a rock crown”...
People are afraid of craziness… Wrongfully!..
ERB: Is your music up-to-date in Belarus? Many people think you are crazy…
Stasya: It’s if you take our first album into account. We are always experimenting with songs and arrangements. We will start recording a new album as soon as the Eurovision story is over. It will be more mature and adequate.
ERB: You said our people were afraid of craziness… But why?
Stasya: It’s because craziness is something unfamiliar. People have an innate fear of the unfamiliar. So they get psychologically frightened. Wrongfully…
