Students' allowances 11% up in Belarus
The Belarusian president on August 17 signed a decree, raising all types of state stipends for students by 11 percent, reports BELTA. After the increase, the monthly allowance for university students will vary between 114,000 to 182,000 rubels. Vocational school students will be paid a monthly allowance between 96,000 to 153,000 rubels.
The increase will be effective since June 1, 2010. The government said the decree was issued in order to improve social security of students.
